Up to eight advanced manufacturing SMEs and startups from across the State are being offered a major business development opportunity in India under the NSW-India Advanced Manufacturing Trade Mission, a joint initiative by the NSW Government and Western Sydney University.
Ms Kylie Bell,Executive Director, Trade and Investment at NSW Treasury said “India is fast emerging as an economic powerhouse, a significant consumer market and a global innovator. Building better links between our manufacturing ecosystems and strengthening trade pathways will help NSW businesses become market ready and future-proof our local businesses.”
Delivered by the NSW Government together with Western Sydney University’s Launch Pad, the NSW-India Advanced Manufacturing Trade Mission invites NSW advanced manufacturing companies to apply for the program.
The initiative provides an opportunity for select companies to gain unique business insights and meet with potential customers, clients, distributors, technology and industry partners that can help deliver them success in the Indian market.
“The advanced manufacturing trade mission is the final initiative as part of the $1.58 million NSW-India Technology Partnership announced by the Premier during her 2018 visit to India. The program has been highly successful in helping NSW businesses access the Indian market and secure commercial outcomes for participants. We are looking forward to seeing similar results for NSW manufacturing companies,” Ms Bell said.
Don Wright, Western Sydney University’s Head of the Launch Pad Innovation Program said, “As NSW builds a new generation manufacturing sector based on Industry 4.0 and disruptive product and process technologies, a wave of global market opportunities are emerging. Markets, such as India, offer innovative manufacturers in NSW potential to diversify and grow their businesses in areas such as medtech, defence and agri-tech. This mission is a key opportunity for local companies to take the first steps in understanding and building connections in the Indian market.”
