Nuwan Munasinghe, Co-founder of Enrol AI Shares His Launch Pad Accelerator Experience
The Story of Nuwan Munasinghe
Nuwan is a PhD student in research funded by the AU Government (IMCRC) and industry to apply Advanced Manufacturing techniques to the mining industry. He is the Co-founder and CTO of EdTech startup Enrol AI, which is part of the AU Government-funded startup accelerator program.
Nuwan came into the SydWest Accelerator Program (Launch Pad Ignition 2021) with an expectation to get an opportunity to network with like-minded people and get help from mentors to improve his Enrol AI startup with Matthew Dell.
“What surprised me about the program was the amount of valuable content and programs they have prepared for startups,” said Nuwan. At Launch Pad, the accelerator programs are more than just about startup growth: they are developed with a focus on founder care and development.
“My biggest learning moment was the time I understood how to organise a technology startup based on the startup stage.”
Besides learning, Nuwan found an interest in one of the classic team-building activities: the Spaghetti Tower challenge. “My funniest moment in the program was making a tall building with pasta. Our team kind of cheated and stuck it onto the ceiling,” he shared while trying to hold back his laughter.
His Startup Journey after the SydWest Accelerator Program
Nuwan and Matthew’s EdTech startup, Enrol AI, has just been accepted to the UTS Techcelerator 2021 with $10K funding shortly after the SydWest Accelerator Showcase Day about a month ago.
“It was a very tough competition that we won today. We believe we won’t be able to do it without the Launch Pad Ignition workshops, training, and most importantly, great help and support from Bec, Jamie, and Jonathon (Launch Pad team members),” said Matthew Dell, Co-founder of Enrol AI.
Also, Enrol AI recently won as semi-finalists in both UTS Startups Awards 2021 and Deakin Startup Competition 2021.
“What I love most about Launch Pad WSU is the diversity, distinctive culture, and excellent values that give a perfect opportunity to each cohort to learn, pitch, and grow in a safe community in the startup environment. I am thankful and glad that I was a part of this accelerator and look forward to hearing all the cohorts’ success stories soon,” Matthew elaborated.
“I’d like to say to anyone thinking of attending next year’s program that this program is really valuable for your startup growth, and I highly suggest you join.”
Enrol AI is a seamless AI platform to match international students with the right courses and enrol them, minimising universities’ financial loss and administration costs, unlike traditional processes.
