Touchdown Demo Day: Launch Pad’s Ignition Cohort Makes Waves 

Touchdown Demo Day marked the completion of a revamped 16-week startup accelerator: Ignition (cohort 5). This milestone celebration showcased the journey of 13 innovative startups, each armed with newfound confidence and the essential tools to propel their ventures into the real world. 

Cohort 5 - Ignition Touchdown Demo Day

The cohort was incredibly  diverse and forward-thinking. Noting a 75% majority of female founders and a strong embrace of cutting-edge AI technologies. The event featured a range of groundbreaking pitches, offering glimpses into the future of industries from healthcare to digital marketing. 

Among the standout pitches were: 

  • Progress Health Solution – a web-based skills training platform.  
  • Medicorn – a digital self-care management tool for diabetics 
  • Solink – next-generation business solutions.  
  • Meet Dressi – AI-powered personal styling app.  
  • Bella Aromatica – luxurious aromatherapy products for busy professionals.  
  • Procare AI – AI-powered platform for NDIS service providers. 
  • Grabdoc – innovative platform for migration agents 
  • Cherrllery – revolutionizing Sydney’s press-on nail industry.  
  • Lazer – a platform offering students with workplace experience opportunities, 
  • Doctrina – an online learning platform for women in STEM 
  • The Source – environmental news-focused online newsletter. 
  • Dine Seal – AI marketing tool. 
  • Hermap – a map-based social platform for relocated women. 

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and optimism, as echoed by Entrepreneur-in-Residence Ian Mason, who described the program as an accelerator from idea to Minimum Viable Product (MVP). “We stress test solid ideas and guide startups towards market readiness,” he explained, emphasizing the holistic approach of the program in fostering sustainable growth beyond initial product launch. 

Adeline Chu, a mentor integral to the cohort’s success, observed a profound shift in mindset among participants: “The growing confidence was beautiful to watch. Many founders started unsure but ended with a strong belief in their capabilities.” This transformational journey was underscored by Western Sydney University Student, Mason Harrop from The Source, who highlighted the confidence and clarity evident in each pitch.

The diversity of ventures showcased at Touchdown Demo Day reflects Launch Pad’s commitment to nurturing a broad spectrum of innovations. From Bella Aromatica’s luxurious self-care products to Grabdoc’s innovative platform for migration agents, each startup brought a unique vision to the forefront.

As Ian Mason aptly put it, “These advancements are paving the way for a better world.” With ongoing support and guidance, the program aims to cultivate more groundbreaking startups capable of making a lasting impact globally.
