Western 4.0 Community Doubles in Number

Over the last 12 months, the Western 4.0 Community has pushed its boundaries. The community started 2021 with a mere number of 6 SMEs, but now at the end of 2021, it consists of 14. The community is forecasted to grow to over 20 by the first quarter of 2022.

These SMEs are involved in meeting regularly together bi-monthly to discuss topics relevant to issues and ideas faced by these companies. Earlier this year, COVID-19 had pushed these breakfast meetings online to Zoom; however, the SMEs are excited to finally be meeting for their first face-to-face breakfast event on Tuesday 7th December, at the new Launch Pad Office on Hassall St – Western Sydney University’s Parramatta Engineering Innovation Hub.

Western 4.0 Breakfast – December 2021
Launch Pad works closely with the Western 4.0 community in connecting them with Western Sydney University to expand the scope for their R&D projects. This opens both student and researcher talent from the university to work with an SME on their projects. A large range of Western Sydney companies have already been connected with SMEs this year, with many more currently in the pipeline.

This year has been an interesting rollercoaster for the Western 4.0 community with lots more to look forward to in 2022.
