Exciting Venture Makers Collaboration with Kansai University of International Studies, Japan

It was a true honour for Launch Pad to host a delegation visit from Kansai University of International Studies (KUISs), Japan few weeks ago in discussing exciting opportunities for Venture Makers.

We had the President and Vice President of KUISs visit us as part of the delegation. An MOU agreement was signed by our Vice Chancellor & President Professor Barney Glover and KUISs President Professor Atsushi Hamana.

The MOU signing and this visit occurred as part of the establishment of a new Venture Makers Global Entrepreneurship student mobility program developed as a partnership between Western Sydney University Launch Pad and KUISs. The program will see a global collaboration of universities from Japan (KUISs), Canada (Vancouver Island University), UK (Keele University), India (Delhi University) and Australia (Western Sydney University) with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.

As part of the Venture Makers collaboration, this culturally immersive experience is promising to provide a unique opportunity for Western Sydney University’s students to develop interdisciplinary and global citizenship skills and expand their knowledge of global startup ecosystems.

During the visit, the delegation met with Western University senior executives including Professor Barney Glover, Professor Linda Taylor, Professor Yi-Chen Lan, Professor Amir Mahmood and other dignitaries from Western Sydney including Lord Mayor Parramatta City, Cr Donna Davis as well as NSW Business Chamber Bruce McCleland.

Lots of great opportunities discussed and exciting times ahead with the Japan collaboration!
