Venture Makers Global Exchange Program in Japan
The Venture Makers Global Exchange Program in Japan is a 10-day intensive student mobility program in Kansai, the innovation capital of Japan. Hosted by the Kansai University of International Studies, this short exchange program will promote and deliver custom developed Venture Makers entrepreneurship training.
The program will see a global collaboration of universities from Japan, Canada, UK, India and Australia with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. This culturally immersive experience will provide a unique opportunity to students to develop interdisciplinary and global citizenship skills and expand on your knowledge of global startup ecosystems.

Program Details
The Global Exchange Program is a 10-day cultural exchange program occurring from 1 – 11 July 2023.
The program is funded by Western Sydney University and Kansai University of International Studies, Japan and will be delivered by Venture Makers through the Mighty Networks Platform. Read more about Mighty Networks here.
Why do this course?
Develop an understanding of transglobal startup ecosystems and gain skills in three fundamental elements of modern entrepreneurship:
- ideation and pitching
- interdisciplinary collaboration
- purposeful self-assessment
The short exchange program comprises of pre-visit sessions to build foundational skills in innovation and entrepreneurship, cultural visits and collaborative sessions with Japanese students from Kansai University in Sydney (September) and a 10-day immersive cultural and educational trip to Japan (1 – 11 of July 2023).
Mighty Network access will be provided to all successful participants prior to course commencement.

Venture Maker Basics Sessions
Online Training on Zoom
Starts: 10th February 2023
There are two Venture Maker Basic Sessions:
- 10th February 2023 (5:30pm – 7:00pm AEDT)
- 17th February 2023 (5:30pm – 7:00pm AEDT)
Cultural and Collaborative Sessions
Face-to-face in Sydney
Starts: 1st March 2023
These sessions consist of an amalgamation of cultural visits in the Sydney region and team-building activities.
*Please note, attendance is not required on all 10 days, only on the days of cultural and collaborative activities. Applicants will be notified of the agenda shortly.
Overseas Exchange Program

Face-to-Face Training in Kansai, Japan

The course consists of:
- 10x full-day face-to-face and hybrid sessions at Kansai University and cultural excursions and trips.
Program Inclusions
The course is a joint collaborative initiative brought to you by Western Sydney University in partnership with Kansai University of International Studies. The program is fully funded by Western Sydney University and Kansai University of International Studies, Japan. You are required to confirm your participation by paying a non refundable deposit of $150.00 after committed to the program.

- International Airfares
- All entrance fees and transport costs
- Regular organised events, trips & activities throughout the program
Exclusions
- Airport pickup, transfer to accommodation
- Accommodation for the duration of the program
- All other expenses such as visa, vaccinations/medical arrangements, local transportation (outside of arranged schedule), SIM card, independent trips, shopping, and personal meals
