Launch Pad Hosts "Perfect Your Pitch" Workshop
On Wednesday 12th October 2022, Launch Pad hosted the “Perfect Your Pitch” workshop. In this hands-on session, we welcomed participants from a range of disciplines who were excited to take their pitching to the next level.
The session ran by internationally renowned leadership trainer, Brad Twynham explored how to effectively communicate ideas to an audience. He taught useful tips and tricks to help participants overcome nerves in a series of interactive challenges.
In the first challenge of the day, participants were encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and do a 15s introduction on stage. The main prerogative of this fun ice-breaker activity was to emphasise the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone to connect with an audience.

During another challenge, participants had to take a personal story they’ve experienced and use it as a metaphor to communicate a powerful idea. Brad highlighted the power of pausing, tone, and hand gestures in effective communication and encouraged participants to practice these whilst sharing their story. Participants then shared their story and gained 1-on-1 constructive feedback from Brad to enhance their skills.
